Description
| This mug holds 180 ml, which is about the same as a single cup of coffee from a convenience store. It’s slightly on the smaller side, making it perfect for when you just want to take a quick break. We’ve reimagined Arita ware—a tradition spanning 400 years—with a design that fits seamlessly into today’s dining scenes. The gray color and minimalist design create a calm atmosphere in any setting. The design appeals to people of all ages and genders. It also comes in a gift box, making it an ideal gift. Arita ware is a historic production region that celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2016 as the birthplace of porcelain. Production is characterized by a division of labor, with many artisans involved in processes such as clay preparation, mold making, shaping, painting, and firing. It is a craft filled with skill and passion, requiring decades of experience to become a fully-fledged artisan. The raw materials include high-quality clay mined in the Amakusa region of Kumamoto Prefecture, as well as glazes composed primarily of domestically sourced feldspar and ash. Firing at a high temperature of 1,300°C for over 12 hours, followed by a slow cooling process, results in beautiful coloration and high durability. The firing process, in particular, is a critical step that determines the final quality. The Arita-yaki tableware created in this way is cherished by many as a masterpiece that can be used with confidence for years to come. *Comes in a designer box *Place of Production: Nishimatsuura District, Saga Prefecture *Dishwasher and microwave safe [Made in Japan][Kitchen][Tableware][Café/Coffee Shop][Mug][Glass][X2] *** Click here for our Summer Sale items *** |
