| Leo*Leoni's works, such as the picture books [Swimmy] and [Aon and Kiro-chan], have been loved by people of all ages in Japan. His life began when he met a group of futuristic artists in Italy, and he worked as an art director in the United States. In his later years, he created works while traveling back and forth between his beloved Italy and the United States. This book traces Leo's "enthusiasm for creation," which never faded despite his diverse activities in advertising, painting, sculpture, and picture books, as well as his many years of research and study. Bruno*Munari The exhibition will also look at Leo's zeitgeist through episodes and works of artists such as Bruno Munari, Ben Shahn, and Eric Carle, with whom he had close friendships. |
