Description
| Silkette refers to the process of soaking cotton yarn or cotton fabric in [a caustic soda solution] while pulling it, or fabrics that have undergone such a process. This technique is used to produce a silk-like luster, and is often applied to cut and sewn fabrics such as T-shirts and T-shirt dresses, shirts, and blouses. [It is also called "silken finish" or "mercerized finish. It is more elegant and luxurious than ordinary cotton fabrics.
