The pattern is in various colors with red as the base color, but the fine pattern gives it a calm feeling. This is a kilim that can be enjoyed by looking at the patterns one by one, giving it a very high quality feel. Sumac weave is a single-sided kilim with the pattern threads on the reverse side. Sumac weaving is an Iranian kilim weaving technique. The fabric is finished like embroidery, but this is not done by stitching afterwards. It is a sophisticated technique in which another weft thread is wound around the warp and weft threads of the foundation as if to intertwine them, and the fabric is woven twice as much as a regular plain weave kilim. 刺繍のように細かな文様が全面に施された美しいスマック織りのキリム。赤を基調に様々な色で文様が入った多色使いですが柄が細かいので落ち着きもあります。一目一目の模様をじっくり眺めて味わえるキリムでたいへん上質感があります。スマック織りは裏面に模様の糸を渡してあるので片面使いのキリムになります。スマック織りとは、イランのキリムの織り方の技法です。生地は刺繍のような仕上がりですが、これは後から刺したものではなく、土台の縦糸と横糸の上にもう一本横糸を絡めるように巻き込んで織っていく高度なテクニックで、生地を二重に織るため通常の平織りのキリムより倍の手間ひまが掛かる分高価になりますが、非常に堅固で丈夫、また普通より細かなデザインを描けるという長所がありますので、価格以上の価値を感じて頂けるキリムです。
