| About our products It is said that the arabesque pattern came to Japan from Persia via the Silk Road, but the exotic paisley pattern has a nostalgic retro atmosphere and fits in with interior decorations better than expected. The fabric is a single piece of 100% cotton with a firm [thickness], supple, and soft texture. It is wrinkle-resistant, so it can be used as a sofa cover, bedspread, or partition like a curtain, and is a very easy-to-use interior fabric. Persian chintz (garamkar) is dyed by hand using several age-old hand-carved wooden patterns, changing the patterns and colors, and stamping the patterns over and over again by hand. In a workshop in Iskafan, the ancient capital of Iran, artisans carefully dye each piece and twist the tassels around it by hand, all by hand. Unlike cloth that is printed at high speed by a machine at once, we hope you will enjoy the craftsmanship of this time-consuming handmade work. Since the cloth is handmade, there may be some areas where the dye has been blown off or rubbed off due to the pressing and dyeing process. 唐草模様はペルシャからシルクロードを伝って日本に伝来したと言われますが、エキゾチックなペイズリー柄はどことなく懐かしいレトロな雰囲気も持っていて思いのほか、インテリアに良く馴染みます。生地は、しっかりと【厚み】のある木綿100％の一枚布で、しなやかで柔らかな質感。シワになりにくいので、ソファカバーやベッドカバー、また、カーテンのような間仕切りに使ったりと大変使いやすいインテリアファブリックで、これ一枚でお部屋の印象がぐっと素敵になります。
ペルシャ更紗（ガラムカール）は、年季の入った幾つもの手彫りの木型を使って、型を変え、色を変えて、何度も何度も手作業で型押しして染められます。イランの古都イスハファーンの工房で、職人さんが一枚ずつ丁寧に染め付け、まわりの房を手で撚り合わせて、全てハンドメイドで仕上げていきます。機械で一度に高速プリントされる布とは違う、手間のかけられた手仕事の職人技をぜひ楽しんでください。手作りの為、押し染めで染料が飛んだり擦れたりした部分がある場合もございます。程度の大きなものはコメントをつけておりますが、商品特性となります。
