Description
[I'm alive! The earth is so beautiful!] Essay on mountain climbing by a popular picture book author, aiming to complete the 100 most famous mountains in the world with his family. When my eldest daughter was 11, my second daughter was 4, and my son was 2, my family visited Kirigamine. There, I learned of the existence of the "One Hundred Famous Mountains of Japan" and thought, "If we could climb them all as a family, it would be a treasured experience. Our family of five started climbing mountains little by little, and so far we have climbed more than 70 of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan. Climbing mountains with children is a constant source of trouble, but there is so much excitement in the mountains that it cancels out the trouble. This book is a collection of mountaineering journals of the accototo family, whose goal is to complete the 100 peaks as a family, from the first to the 30th mountain. The overwhelming power of nature and beautiful landscapes are expressed with the sensitivity of a picture book author. The book includes not only photos of beautiful scenery seen in the mountains, but also episodes of quarrels between siblings, weather problems, toilet problems, etc., and is sure to be a useful reference for those who are thinking about mountain climbing with their families! [30 of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan introduced in this book] Mt. Zao Mt. Azuma Mt. Adatara Mt. Mt. Tanigawa Mt. Mt. Asama Mt. Tsukuba Mt. Mt. Fuji Mt. Amagi Mt. Mt. Tateshina Mt. Kisokomagatake Mt. Ibuki Mt. [Mt. Miyanoura Mt.] Ms. accototo's writing and illustrations shine with kindness, humor, and observation. The beauty of nature that can be felt with all five senses, such as the scenery at the summit, the flowers and animals along the way, and the meals at the hut, are charmingly expressed, giving the reader a realistic feeling of the air and scenery of the mountains just by reading the book. The lively descriptions of plants, animals, and insects that can be encountered in the mountains are also a must-see! It is sure to arouse children's curiosity. This is a book that we hope parents and children will enjoy together. About the Author accototo The name "accototo" comes from "toto" (Toshio Fukuda) and "acco" (Akiko Fukuda).
