At the age of 47, he awakened to spirituality through a mysterious experience. As a result, he underwent a profound transformation from a "fighting man" to a "joyful man" and finally arrived at the starting line of his life. He started writing after the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011. In March 2012, he retired from the United Nations, where he had worked for 27 years.
