Originally called Best Select or Pabst Select, it became [Pabst Blue Ribbon] after the blue ribbon that was wrapped around the neck of the bottle between 1882 and 1916. There was a period of stagnation in the past, but sales started to recover around the year 2000. This seems to be mainly due to its popularity among fashion-conscious fashionistas in urban areas.
