Description
| *Traditional cooking utensils This is a set of a stone mortar [Cobek] and a pestle [Ulekan], essential for Indonesian cooking. Made of solid natural stone, the more it is used, the more its texture will increase. These traditional cooking tools have been in daily use since ancient times, and are still in use in homes, food stalls, restaurants, and other places. *Tools for creating the "Taste of Southeast Asia Indonesian cuisine requires sambal, a spicy chili-based seasoning, and bumbu, a cooking paste made from a combination of spices and aromatic vegetables. [Sambal is a spicy sauce made by grinding chili peppers, garlic, salt, shrimp paste (terasi), and lime. Bumbu is a paste made by grinding garlic, onions, chili peppers, ginger, turmeric, candlenuts, etc., and is used as a "base" for stir-fried or stewed dishes. Many Indonesian dishes, such as nasi goreng and lundang, start with this "base" paste. *Textured kitchenware With this millstone set, you can make spicy seasonings such as sambal and savory pastes such as bumbu by hand. The process of crushing garlic, ginger, spices, nuts, and other ingredients to bring out their aroma can be experienced with the sensation of your hands. The texture of the natural materials as they are and the rugged, earthy feel of the product give it a certain atmosphere just by placing it in the kitchen. *Because natural stone is used, there may be small dents or uneven coloring on the surface. Since all the pieces are handmade, there are individual differences in shape and weight. Please understand this in advance. When using the stone, please clean it by crushing vegetable scraps and other materials several times before starting to use it in earnest. |
