| This is the first collection of works by painter* Yusei Nagashima. The works were selected* and published based on a review of approximately 12 years from the beginning of his career to the present day (2025). More than 400 creatures are depicted in the book. The collection features his specialty of fish, but also includes crustaceans, reptiles, amphibians, plants, and other motifs that have rarely been exhibited. Fish are vividly depicted through delicate yet bold overlapping color surfaces. In addition to the qualitative design that conveys the charm of the fish, an essay touching on the philosophy behind the painting method is included as an afterword. This is a book that allows the reader to fully enjoy Nagashima's work. |
