This product is an incense burner made by traditional craftsman* Kintama Nakata III, who inherited the techniques of gold-plated porcelain and blue-grained lacquerware for three generations.
This incense burner is handmade by the third generation of traditional craftsman* Nakata Kintama, who has inherited the techniques of Morigane painting and Aogurin (blue grain) for three generations.

In the Ao-grain technique, where each grain is hand-struck, the grains usually tend to be irregular.
However, Kikugama's grains are uniform and whorled, giving the work an interesting character.
  Porcelain
Porcelain fired in advance is coated with an even, matte black undercoat and fired. A pattern is painted on the surface with Bengara, and then gold is applied on top of the pattern and fired again. Gold is not smooth, so a high level of skill is required to draw smoothly. After that, the blue grains are drawn in whirlpools using a tool called "ichin" (a tool called "ichin" in Japanese). The technique of dropping uniform grains at equal intervals, without any underpainting, is truly a divine art. Just by displaying it, it enhances the chi of the entire room.

*It is a very time-consuming process. It is made to order.
