With a relaxed fit around the arms, this design pairs easily with a wide variety of tops. [Excellent Breathability] The dolman sleeves feature a generously sized armhole. The design features a gentle curve that becomes apparent when you spread your arms, providing excellent airflow. The fabric is soft and drapes beautifully, creating a natural silhouette when your arms are down. This cardigan is perfect for those who want to stay cool without exposing their arms! [A Cool, Fine Check Pattern] This micro-check fabric debuted last year. Woven using two colors of yarn, the check pattern is so fine that it appears solid from a distance. We’ve achieved a three-dimensional look and nuanced colors. [Summer-Perfect Fabric] Summer-Perfect Fabric This fabric, delicately woven with fine yarns to the point where it appears solid, is actually a collection of fine checks. It was a long, long journey to create this thin and lightweight micro-check fabric. Sisam’s designers sent fabric samples from Japan to Mahaguchi in Nepal, where Mahaguchi then assessed whether the fabric factory could actually produce it. Since direct communication between the designer and the fabric artisans is difficult, making detailed adjustments often takes a long time. Just when it seemed the finished sample had arrived from the fabric artisans to the designer, it turned out the fabric had been made with unexpectedly thick yarn. “This fabric would be difficult to wear in summer*!”—and so the back-and-forth with Mahaguchi began again. This series was finally brought to life through persistent effort, taking our time, and devising creative ways to communicate with the local artisans. 軽くて柔らかく、優しい肌触りが人気のマイクロチェック生地で、七分袖の羽織をつくりました。
ゆったりな腕回りで、さまざまなトップスにも幅広く合わせやすいデザインです。
「風通しのよさ」
ドルマンスリーブの袖はアームホールが大きめ。
手を広げたときに分かるゆったりカーブなデザインで、風通し抜群です。
生地が柔らかく落ち感があるため、腕をおろしていると自然なシルエットに。
涼しく過ごしたいけど腕は出したくない！という気持ちに応えてくれるカーディガンです。
「涼やかな細かいチェック柄」
昨年登場したマイクロチェック生地。
二色の糸を使った生地で、遠目でみると無地にみえるほど細かいチェック柄。
立体感とニュアンスのある色を表現しました。
「夏にふさわしい生地」
夏にふさわしい生地
細い糸で繊細に織り上げた無地にも見えるその生地は、実は細かいチェックの集まり。
そんな薄くて軽いマイクロチェック生地が出来上がるまでには、ながいながい道のりがありました。
シサムのデザイナーが見本となる生地を日本からネパールのマハグチへ送り、マハグチから生地工場へ「作ることは出来るか」のジャッジが行われます。
デザイナーと生地職人が直接やりとりすることが難しいため、細かい修正に時間がかかることもしばしば。
そして生地職人からデザイナーの元へ出来上がったサンプルが届いたと思ったら、想定外の太い糸で出来上がった生地。
この生地では夏に着ることが難しい・・・！とマハグチとのやり取りが再び。
根気強く時間をかけながら、現地の職人さんへ伝えるための工夫も重ねながら、ようやく生まれたシリーズなのです。
