私が5歳の時でした。
展覧会場のマティスの絵の前で母が私に語りかけるのです。
「赤がここと上と右にもあって、構図に動きがあるわね。」
マティスが赤と緑と黄色のけんかしそうな配色を
見事に組み合わせていたのをはっきりと覚えています。
絵が好きになったは私は、展覧会に行くと、
印象に残った作品の複製画を
部屋に飾るようになりました。
コロナ禍で外出もままならず、
気持ちが萎えそうになった時、
美しい絵の画集のページをめくると、
心が不思議と落ち着くのを感じました。
