| Hand-woven rug, one of a kind [Item no.] hal2789 [Size] 194 x 154 cm (not including tassels) [Place of origin] Southern Turkey [Material] Wool and cotton This is a reproduction of the traditional pattern of the Uşak region, with palmettes (tree buds) and paisleys interspersed throughout. This design is so popular that it is often referred to as the "Uşak rug." Similar designs are woven by hand or machine in other parts of Turkey as well as in other parts of the world. This rug has a traditional color scheme of bright orange-red and indigo blue. Even the solid areas have uneven color shading, creating a natural gradation. The rug is woven with natural dyes in an antique style with an uneven coloring that gives it a slightly used look. The surface of the weave is shiny and smooth to the touch. Cotton yarns are used for the warp of the base part, giving the weave a firm and resilient texture. パルメット（木の芽）とペイズリーが散りばめられた、ウシャク地方の伝統柄を再現しています。ウシャクじゅうたんと言えばこのデザインというほど、人気のデザインで、トルコ国内だけではなく、他の地域でも手織りや機械織りで同様のデザインが織り継がれています。
このラグは、オレンジがかった明るい赤とインディゴブルーの伝統的な色使い。無地部分にも色ムラによる濃淡があり自然なグラデーションができています。天然の染料を使って、少し使い込んだような色ムラのあるアンティーク風に織られています。
織り地の表面はツヤがあり滑らかな肌触り。ベース部分の縦糸にはコットン糸が使われ、ハリがありしっかりとした織り地です。パイル（毛足）を含めた全体の厚みは6-7mm程度。
