Extra-long staple cotton, with fibers measuring 35 mm or longer, is characterized by its fine, supple fibers. Its appeal lies in the naturally soft feel against the skin. *Ultra-Loose-Twist Yarn “Ultra-loose twist” refers to yarn where the twist has been minimized to the absolute limit while still maintaining its structural integrity. By reducing the twist more than in standard yarns, we bring out the natural softness and lightness of the cotton. While [untwisted yarn] is sometimes used to achieve softness in towels, at Ten’i Musei we do not rely on chemical additives; instead, we use twisting techniques to maximize the inherent qualities of the material. *Senshu Towels Ten’i Musou towels are made in the Senshu region of Osaka Prefecture, the birthplace of Japanese towels. By weaving them slowly on traditional low-speed looms, we preserve the yarn’s natural texture to create a gentle feel against the skin. We also employ the “post-bleaching” method unique to Senshu towels. By washing and bleaching the fabric after weaving, we ensure excellent absorbency and a fresh, just-unwrapped cleanliness. |
