Seto Ware

[kohiki stripe]
A series of flat plates featuring striking stripe patterns drawn with a soft touch.
Available in two colors—dark brown and blue—they subtly complement your dishes.
The clean, oval shape makes it easy to plate food, and these versatile pieces are perfect for everything from main courses to serving plates.

[Precautions] Handling Ceramic Ware
Fine hairline cracks known as “kannyu” may appear on the glaze surface. This occurs naturally during the cooling process after firing due to differences in thermal expansion* and contraction between the clay body and the glaze, and does not constitute a defect. If the piece has craquelure, it will absorb water readily at first, so using dark-colored liquids such as sauce is likely to cause staining within the cracks. When using the piece for the first time, please take care—for example, by soaking it in water for a few minutes. We hope you will also enjoy the changes in its appearance as it ages.

[Before Purchasing]
Due to the nature of the ceramic production process, individual variations such as those listed below may occur. As this is part of the charm of ceramics, we hope you will appreciate these as unique characteristics and part of the piece’s character. Please understand that these are not defects, and we kindly ask for your understanding before purchasing.

1. Color Variations—Depending on the nature of the glaze and the degree of firing, there may be differences in shade compared to the images. Additionally, scorching or glaze drips may occur.
2. Craquelure—After firing, small cracks may appear on the surface of the glaze. These are intentional design elements and do not constitute defects.
3. Black Spots — Black spots may appear on the surface due to iron particles.
4. Pinholes — Due to the nature of the glaze and clay, tiny holes measuring a few millimeters may be visible.
