Rui was one of them. “I wanted to express the ‘allure of dinosaurs’ through a modern animal”—Holiday Rhino was born from that playful spirit. Rhinoceroses are just like modern-day dinosaurs, and imagining them walking through a tropical jungle gives you a little thrill. The banana leaves in the background are a memory of the garden from Rui’s childhood in Nairobi. Overlaid with that memory, the rhino’s gentle expression makes it look as if it’s enjoying a long vacation. Plus, thanks to its calm, gray-toned color palette, it blends seamlessly with any cushion—that’s part of its charm. It’s a design that brings a sense of “Holiday” to your space, relaxing your mind just by looking at it. The material is vegan suede (faux suede) made from polyester fibers.
