This teapot features a stainless steel mesh base that drains excess moisture from the tea leaves like a colander, allowing you to enjoy delicious brews even from the second steep onward. It is recommended for deep-steamed tea*, hojicha*, and genmaicha.

Yokkaichi Banko-yaki is one of Japan’s leading production centers for teapots and earthenware pots, and its unglazed teapots—fired without glaze on the interior—rank alongside Tokoname-yaki as two of the major production centers. A characteristic of unglazed earthenware teapots is that the raw clay body is fired as is. It is said that the iron content in the clay interacts well with the components in the tea, resulting in a smoother and more delicious brew.

[Stainless Steel Bottom Strainer / Casting Method]

[Banko-yaki]
Banko-yaki is a traditional pottery style produced in the Yokkaichi area of Mie Prefecture, with a history dating back to the Edo period.

Banko-yaki teapots retain heat well while remaining easy to hold, making them ideal for everyday use.
It is said that the iron in the clay interacts well with the components in the tea, resulting in a smoother and more delicious brew.

The understated elegance born of traditional craftsmanship blends naturally not only with traditional Japanese spaces but also with modern interiors. It is a delightful item not only for your own home but also as a gift for tea lovers.
