| The “Tenten” bowl series features a collection of small vessels with a variety of expressions. Originally created as small travel tea bowls designed to be easily carried while on the go for enjoying tea, these pieces are carefully handcrafted one by one using the same techniques as matcha bowls, despite their small size. This allows you to fully appreciate the subtle nuances of the glazes and decorations characteristic of Kyoto-yaki* and Kiyomizu-yaki. Their small, charming shape fits snugly in the hand, making them ideal not only for tea but also for rice, clear soup, dishes, sweets, and a variety of other presentations. Whether used alone or in combination, enjoy creating a thoughtfully curated dining experience. The [Mitate] glaze, applied by hand during firing, sometimes reveals a rich variety of expressions that surpass even the artisan’s imagination. These unique patterns have long been regarded as the “scenery” of the vessel—its most captivating feature.
