*A sarasa pattern encircles the plain, blank space.

This square cloth measures approximately 50 cm on each side and features natural off-white Indian cotton in the center, bordered by narrow strips of colorful woodblock-printed fabric. By deliberately leaving the center unpatterned rather than filling the entire surface, the sarasa patterns—featuring floral and botanical motifs along the border—immediately catch the eye. Place a white bowl or wooden tray on it, and the pattern frames the food like a picture frame; wrap a bento box in it, and the colors and patterns peek out from the knot. It’s a cloth that adds a little joy to those casual, everyday moments.

*Where rustic Indian cotton meets vibrant prints

As you can see in the photo, the central fabric has a rustic texture—slightly different from pure white—featuring the natural character of the weave and small neps (tiny fiber fragments). This is paired with a border in colors and patterns that vary by design—such as pink, blue, yellow, green, and purple. The edges are neatly finished with a fabric binding, giving the square outline a crisp, clean look. Since the natural fabric makes up a large portion of the design, the woodblock-printed border stands out beautifully without being overpowering, making this a very versatile piece.

*Versatile at approximately 50 cm square—from handkerchief to table setting

The size is approximately 50 cm × 50 cm. It’s perfect not only as a large handkerchief for wiping hands or sweat but also as a placemat, comfortably accommodating a plate and cup for one person. Place a cup of chai and some baked goods, a curry plate and chapati, or a breakfast bread plate in the center, and the patterned border adds a subtle pop of color. You can tie the four corners to wrap a bento box, drape it over a basket to hide its contents, or use it as a mat for vases or accessories on a small shelf—this single piece can serve many purposes. With a total of 10 different patterns to choose from, we recommend using different ones for each family member or giving them as small gifts to food lovers.

*Floral patterns from woodblock printing, a tradition passed down in the Jaipur area

The fabric used for the border is a traditional woodblock-printed cloth that has long been cherished in the Jaipur area of Rajasthan, India. Woodblock printing is a technique in which dye or printing paste is applied to a carved wooden block and then pressed onto cotton fabric to transfer the pattern. In Sanganeer, near Jaipur, the area is known for its intricate woodblock prints featuring detailed patterns inspired by nature, such as flowers, leaves, vines, paisley, and birds.

[Note] This product is made from fabric dyed one piece at a time using woodblock printing. The print design may vary slightly from piece to piece depending on the placement on the fabric and variations in color intensity.

Since the edges are block-printed, some color may run during initial washes or when exposed to water. Additionally, color may transfer if the fabric rubs against white clothing or similar items.

Due to the nature of block printing, there may be slight misalignment or unevenness in the print.
