| Unglazed tiles used in old castles and other buildings in France from the 17th to the 19th century. These antique tiles were made and used throughout France from the 17th to 19th centuries for roofs and floors of old castles and private houses. Since these antique tiles have been used in various places in France, they have been aged and each tile has its own unique color and pattern. Some of the tiles may still have some soil on them. One of the characteristics of terra cotta is that it has a very wide range of colors, depending on where the terra cotta was made, the soil, and the temperature at which it was fired. By making the most of the individuality of each piece and using it in your garden or entranceway, you can create a very atmospheric exterior or interior design. |
