Set against a serene landscape inhabited by sheepdogs, donkeys, and cats, the design subtly incorporates the “ornithopter”—a flapping machine designed by Leonardo* da* Vinci. This beautiful landscape pattern, reminiscent of a painting, was meticulously dyed one color at a time by artisans at a traditional hand-dyed textile factory still operating in Yokohama. The fabric is made from wool viera, woven from fine, supple, high-quality yarn. Unlike typical wool, it lacks the thickness and heavy nap; instead, it is thin and light, with a smooth texture reminiscent of silk.
