| The [Calligraphy Performance Koshien] is a competition where high school students from across the country engage in fierce calligraphy battles. The event is held in Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture, which has long flourished as a “city of paper” and has nurtured one of Japan’s leading paper industries and calligraphy cultures. This product is a local manhole ink created using the [Calligraphy Performance Koshien] manhole design—the same design featured on the manhole cards—as its motif. We’ve reinterpreted the designs of the manhole covers that adorn the city as a “tool for writing.” Please enjoy the experience of grinding the ink and running your brush across the paper, immersing yourself in the design that symbolizes local culture and the spirit of this city of calligraphy.
