While bowls are generally used to serve dishes with broth, these shallow bowls can also be used to serve dry dishes without looking out of place. Of course, they can also be used for dishes like tsukemen and Koro udon.
“Reinforced clay” is created by adding proprietary reinforcing particles to pottery clay* or porcelain clay, finely grinding the raw materials to increase density, and removing large particles that could cause breakage. Additionally, the expansion rates of the clay body and glaze are adjusted during firing. It has 1.5 to 2 times the flexural strength of ordinary clay.
