れんげの名前の由来は匙の形が蓮の花びら一片に似ていることから、ちりれんげになり、それが略されて、れんげになりました。
強化土とは、陶土・磁器土に独自の強化粒子を添加、原料を細かく粉砕して密度を上げ破壊源となる大きな粒子を取り除いています。また、生地と釉薬の膨張率を調整して焼成しております。普通土よりも1.5倍〜2倍の抗折強度があります。
