Shobara City, where these stones are found, is said to be the site of the tomb of [Izanami-no-Mikoto], the “goddess of nation-building” who appears in the *Kojiki*. Legend has it that Izanami-no-Mikoto, together with Izanagi-no-Mikoto, created the Japanese archipelago using a spear called Ameno-Nuboko. This stone embodies that spirit of creation and mythology.
