| *What is [Tenryu Stone]? The Tenryu River is said to have been named because its swift current resembles a dragon ascending to the heavens, and also because Lake Suwa, located upstream, is home to Suwa Taisha, a shrine dedicated to the Dragon God. This chlorite schist is believed to possess strong soil and water purification properties, and high-quality tea and agricultural products are cultivated in the area. It is a stone from the Southern Alps, located at the western end of the Fossa Magna. Since the Southern Alps are still rising, this mineral is constantly subjected to high temperatures and pressures. Under these conditions, cracks form, and white silica—which avoids these cracks—is deposited by hydrothermal activity, creating a distinctive patterned appearance. It emits trace amounts of negative ions and far-infrared rays, and it is believed that wearing it may have beneficial effects on the body. Tenryu Stone is a crystalline schist composed of chlorite. 天龍川の由来は「流れが速く、天に上る龍の如く」の川に見えることからであり、更には上流にある諏訪湖に龍神を祀る諏訪大社があるからといわれています。
この緑泥片岩は土壌や水の浄化力が高いとされ、現地では高品質のお茶や農産物が育てられています。
フォッサマグナの西端にある南アルプスの石であり、南アルプスは今も隆起し続けているため、常に高温高圧の影響を受け続けている鉱物です。
その条件下でヒビが入り、熱水作用によってヒビを避ける白いケイ素が模様のように入っているのが特徴です。
マイナスイオンや遠赤外線が微量に放出されており、身に着けることにより身体への影響がある可能性が期待されています。
天龍石はクロライトで構成される結晶片岩です。
