| Hakusan Pottery Shell HAKUSAN SHELL The Shell series won the Grand Prix at the Valencia International Industrial Design Exhibition in 1983. It has been a long-selling product for more than 30 years. The patterns on this series are not drawn with paints, but by the unevenness of the surface. The rim of the plate is shaped as if it were slightly wavy, giving the plate a rounded and soft atmosphere. Many of Hakusan Pottery's dishes are tightly made with no distortion, so it is rare to find a dish with a soft, handmade feel like this. It is deep enough to be used for side dishes with a lot of liquid. The size of this dish is just like a toplet. I used it for a photo shoot, and it worked perfectly for serving several kinds of breakfast dishes. Some people may be concerned about the care of this dish because of its uneven surface, but it is smooth, so it is not particularly difficult to handle. Rather, it is a light, well weighted dish that is very easy to handle. It comes in two colors, white porcelain (white) and tenmoku (black), and has seven different patterns. In tenmoku, the unevenness of the surface makes the pattern stand out more, with the pattern raised to a brownish color. |

1983年にバレンシア国際工業デザイン展でグランプリを受賞している、シェルシリーズ。
もう30年以上も売れ続けているロングセラー商品です。
このシリーズは絵柄が絵の具で描かれているのではなく、表面の凹凸によって、模様が描かれています。
プレートの縁は微かに波を打っているような形状で、丸みを帯びたやわらかい雰囲気が特徴的なお皿です。
白山陶器の食器はゆがみがない、きっちりとしたつくりの物が多く、こういうやわらかい手作り感のある器は珍しいです。
しっかりと深さがあるので汁気の多いおかずにもお使いいただけます。
サイズ感は、まさに取皿。
また撮影で使ってみましたが、朝食のおかずを数種類盛り付けてもばっちり決まってくれました。
凹凸で描かれているのでお手入れの面でご不安な方もいらっしゃるかもしれませんが、滑らかな凹凸なので、特別に扱い難いことはございません。
むしろ、軽くて重なりの良い非常に扱いやすいお皿です。
色は白磁（白）と天目（黒）の2色で、柄は7種類あります。
天目は、凹凸により絵柄が茶色に浮き上がってより絵柄が目立っています。
