This kinpu (money envelope) is ideal for wakes, funerals, memorial services*, and other mourning events. The obliquely folded type is used mainly in the Kansai region. The type without lotus leaves can be used regardless of religion. In the Buddhist ceremony, it is believed that a spirit becomes a Buddha after 49 days, and [go-butsumae] is generally used from 49 days. Three strips of paper are included: [Goreizen], [Gobutsumae], and [Gokoden]. You can also write directly on the body of the envelope without using tanzaku.
