Description
| The MA-1 was introduced in the mid-1950s as the successor to the B-15 series of flight jackets for the intermediate zone. It was originally equipped with an oxygen tab and an ISC tab, almost the same specifications as the B-15 (MOD), and the lining was gray. (MIL-J-8279, Types A and B) In the mid-1960s, the lining was changed to rescue orange to increase visibility during rescues. (C,D type) When the successor model, CWU-45P, was adopted in the late 1970s, the lining was changed to the same sage green as the outer lining and was used mainly by aircrews and ground crews. (Models E and F) Our product is based on MIL-J-8279D with rescue orange lining, narrowed armholes, and a tight silhouette. The material is manufactured according to the same specifications as 8279D, and each rib is made of 100% wool. The lining is also made of 58% wool and 42% cotton pile material, instead of polyester, to successfully reproduce the weight and cold protection characteristic of the real thing. |
