| With the aroma, leave it. Hand cream using pesticide-free yuzu [Kunizou Yuzu] from Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture. -What is WANOWA? In Japan, each region has its own unique agricultural products, people who grow them, and traditions. However, due to the aging of farmers* and the lack of successors, the future is uncertain in many areas. What can we do to preserve them*? We thought that if we combined [agricultural products] and [aroma] manufacturing, we could transmit our products throughout Japan and around the world. When many people use the products, the farmers' lives will be stabilized and they can make better products. If many people have a chance to see the products, there will surely be people who are interested in the region. And we can continue to enjoy the agricultural products and traditions of the region. The people who use the products think of the people who make them, and the people who make them think of the people who use them. WANOWA wants to be a brand that creates a "circle" of feelings. -The Story of Kunizou Yuzu Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture. A town where yuzu is grown in the northern land. Only a few farmers over the age of 60 are managing the farm. Yuzu production started at the end of the Showa period (1926-1989), and the story of a yuzu tree in a farmhouse, which was common knowledge in the old days, and The 80-year-old farmer told us about the local dish [yuzu miso], which is proof of the close relationship between the farmers and the people of this area. At its peak, there were 50 farmers producing Kunizou yuzu, but due to the aging of the population and lack of successors, the number of yuzu farms has decreased. We started this project to preserve the traditions of these precious Japanese producers and the value that can only be produced there. In fact, we have been able to realize the first phase of this project in cooperation with the local people * farmers * universities and government officials. Our goal is to create new products by combining what we can do [of fragrance] and traditions from all over Japan, and to make them known to many people. -Organic Kunizou Yuzu Hand Cream Once a year, precious organic yuzu is harvested by yuzu farmers in a town called Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture. When you smell the fragrance, you can instantly tell the difference from other yuzu. 私たちは「農産物」と「香り」のものづくりを組み合わせれば、日本中・世界中に発信する事ができると考えました。
多くの人が商品を使うことによって、農家さんの生活が安定し、より良いものがつくれる。
多くの人が目にする機会があれば、地域に興味を持ってくれる人もきっといる。
そして、私たちはその地域の農産物や伝統をこれからも楽しんでいくことができる。

石川県能美市。
北の大地でゆずが作られている町。
還暦を超える農家さんがわずか数名で管理をしている。
昭和の終わりに始めたゆずの生産は、昔では常識だった農家の家にはゆずの木という話と、
80歳の農家さんが教えてくれた郷土料理「ゆず味噌」からも知れるほど、この地域の人々と密接に関わってきた証だ。
最盛期に50戸の農家が生産していた国造ゆずも高齢化と後継者不足により、今では減ってしまった。
私たちは、そんな貴重な日本の生産者たちが残している伝統やそこでしか作れない価値のあるものを残していくために、このプロジェクトを始めた。
実際に、現地の人々・農家さん・大学や行政の方々とも協力し、第一弾を実現させていただく事となった。
私たちができる「香り」のものづくりと、日本全国での伝統を組み合わせて、新たな商品を作り、たくさんの人に知ってもらう事が私たちの目標だ。
