| The lacquerware is made in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, which excels in the art of wood turning. Lacquerware has a longer history than ceramics, and is characterized by its resistance to heat transfer, lightness when held, and smoothness to the touch. The unique method of cutting zelkova wood, known as "vertical cutting," is less prone to distortion and shrinkage and stronger, so it can be used for many years to come. The more you use it, the more you will grow attached to it because of its unique color and glossy appearance over time. The mouth of the bowl has a flared shape to make it easy to drink soup. 漆器において、木地挽物技術に優れた石川県加賀市にて作られています。
陶磁器よりも歴史が長い漆器は、熱が伝わりにくく、持った時の軽さや感触 、口当たりが滑らかなのが特徴です。また、産地独自の「縦木取り」と呼ばれる欅材の切り出し方は、歪みや収縮が少なく強度がある為、末長くお使い頂けます。
さらに使っていくうちに、色鮮やかに艶が出てくる漆独特の経年変化に愛着が深 まります。食材を引き立たせ、美味しさや温もりを感じさせる伝統的な塗りや色を基本にし、汁物が飲みやすいよう、口元は外側に広がった羽反り形状に仕上げています。また、具沢山のお味噌汁を召し上がることを想定した容量ですが、お雑煮や麺類、丼類など様々な 料理にもお使い頂けます。
底面には、日本人が食事の前後に挨拶する「いただきます」や「ごちそうさま」の手を合わせる姿を モチーフとし、食事を作ってくれた方や食材への感謝の気持ちを表した刻印を施しています。
