Description
| Arrow is a type of giant nettle that grows in the mountains of Nepal at altitudes of 1,200 to 3,000 meters, and its stems, leaves, and flowers are covered with fine spines. People cut hundreds of nettle stalks while protecting their hands from thorns with cloths to avoid leeches, which are common during the rainy season, and separate the stalks into bark and core to take them home in baskets. They then peel off the bark, extract the fibers, and carefully spin the yarn. The Tamang, Gurung, and especially Rai tribes living in the central Himalayan mountain range have needed the wood for clothing and food for more than 1,000 years.
