Description
| [Ethical (regional)] Delicate patterns are produced using a technique called Fukuro-ori, which has a large number of warp threads. The folding is so complicated that it will break if long rushes are not used. The dense warp makes it firm and tear-resistant. Rushes from Kyushu are used. Each strand is thick, with a thick outer skin and fine fibers, making it resilient and durable. Igusa has natural air purification and humidity control properties. It is also stain-resistant, and as it is used, it changes to a golden color, giving it a distinctive flavor. Aomori hiba (Aomori cypress) is used for the treatment. (Antibacterial and deodorizing effect) The back is covered with Japanese urethane, which has moderate cushioning and is non-slip. |
