Description
Mountains are something that are closely connected to people's lives. They teach us many things. Sometimes harshly, sometimes gently. Walking in the mountains and being in touch with nature enriches our lives. This is a book I wrote down so that I would not forget such feelings. [This is the mountain that appeared in that historical novel! I have been traveling in the mountains to satisfy my very personal intellectual curiosity for 10 years now. Since then, I have been calling myself a "low-mountain traveler," and I have been making a living by sending out information to the media in order to share the fun of hiking mountains that trace history and culture. I have been fascinated by low mountains with good views from the ridges of high peaks, and by Satoyama, which is a place with a lot of life, and I have more opportunities to visit them. In these low mountains, I discovered mountains that have been the setting for historical novels, myths, and folk tales, and places where paintings have been modeled and movies filmed. It was unexpected to discover cultural information that I had come into contact with in my daily life in the mountains. The more you go to the mountains, the more your "dots" of knowledge become "lines," and that is the joy you will find there. The notes I wrote down as I visited the low mountains here and there became the "Low Mountain Handbook". I hope you will find in it hints for enjoying low-mountain hiking that you cannot experience just by aiming for alpine peaks.
