| [Ethical (regional)] This is an overlay with a water-repellent finish on both sides of the rush grass fabric (however, it does not repel water above 40°C, such as hot water*tea*coffee). You can refresh your Tatami room just by laying the overlay. Please use it as a cover to refresh tatami that has been sunburned and to prevent new tatami from being stained. General rush mats need to be wiped dry before use, but this product does not need to be wiped dry because it is coated with a water-repellent coating after the fabric is dyed with mud. You can use the product as it is after unrolling it. Since both the front and back sides of the fabric are coated with a water-repellent finish, the product is effective in preventing stains* from adhering to the fabric. The fabric can be used on both sides, making it economical and reversible. We use domestic (Kyushu) rush grass of 115-120 cm in length. About 88 cm of it is used. The edge of the heri has a certain degree of whiteness (not tanning). (This is not tanning, but the color of the base and tip of the rush grass.) The longer the rushes are, the higher the quality. The tips of the rushes are reddish brown, the base is white, and the center is blue (green). The more of the good quality blue part in the middle is used, the stronger and more beautiful the finish will be. The more of the blue part in the middle of the rushes is used, the more beautiful and even the entire surface will be tanned and tasted. We use Japanese rushes (produced in Kyushu). Each strand of Japanese rush grass is thicker, with a thicker outer skin and finer fibers, making it more resilient and durable. Rigusa has the characteristics of purifying the air, regulating humidity, and being stain resistant. The rush grass is treated with Aomori Hiba (Aomori Hiba).
