Description
| Silk-spun slub yarn of domestic silkworm silk. The slub shape allows air to be contained in the sweet part of the twist, creating a gap in the knitted fabric so that the work is lightweight. Colors; The color range is made up of achromatic colors and neutral tones of red*red/purple*blue/purple to create an elegant image. Silkworm silk is fed exclusively on mulberry leaves, which results in a constant mouth shape and thereby a uniform thickness of the cocoon fibers. Therefore, if the yarn is made straight, the fibers will be densely packed together, making it heavy and causing the work to lose its shape. In contrast, wild silkworm silk, which feeds on a variety of leaves, has irregular cocoon fiber thickness, so even when twisted into a straight yarn, gaps are created in the yarn structure, resulting in a lightweight yarn. Originally, wild silkworm silk is more suitable for knit yarns in the sense that it prevents the yarn from losing its shape, but Silk Relief dares to make lighter yarns with the stable silk of the domesticated silkworm. |

家蚕シルクの絹紡スラブヤーンです。
スラブの形状にすることによって撚りの甘い部分に空気を含ませ、編地に隙間をつくって作品が軽く仕上がるように工夫しています。
色は無彩色とニュートラルトーンの赤・赤紫・青紫系の色により、エレガントなイメージのカラーレンジに仕上げました。
家蚕シルクは桑の葉のみを食べさせているため口の形が一定になり、それによって繭の繊維の太さも均一化します。したがってストレートな糸にすると繊維同士が密になり、重くなって作品の型崩れにつながりますので、この糸は太さに変化のあるスラブ状に仕上げています。
これに対して様々な葉を食べている野蚕シルクは繭の繊維の太さが不規則なため、ストレートな糸に撚糸しても、糸の構造に隙間ができて軽い糸に仕上がります。本来ニット用の糸には型崩れを防ぐ意味で野蚕シルクの方が適しているのですが、シルクレリーフは、あえて安定している家蚕シルクでより軽く作りました。
