Description
| Cool and refreshing, comfortable to sit or lie on. Taking advantage of the good qualities of tatami, the standard Japanese rug, BasShu has pursued a design that can be matched with sofas and beds. We used 100% rush grass from Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture, as the material, and asked Ikegami Hikotaro Shoten, a long-established company in Chikugo that has been involved in tatami-omote production since 1887, to do the weaving. The craftsmen keep a close eye on the weaving and move the machines slowly so as not to overload the rush grass, so only 5 to 6 sheets can be produced per day. However, this time-consuming process and technique are the quality and presence of IGUSA RUG. |
