Description
[FUKU MEDETA MONO Made in Japan] Since ancient times, people in Japan have believed that things called "lucky charms" have a mysterious power to bring happiness. We hope you will use "Medetamono", which depicts such "lucky charms" and is made into glass tableware, as a gift to wish happiness to your loved ones or as a lucky item for yourself. Hakata Dokugaku][Tenchijin: to ward off evil spirits][Hakata Dokugaku][Tenchijin: to ward off evil spirits]. It is said that Hakata Dokugaku was the first iron-core spinning top in Japan, and was so popular during the Edo period (1603-1868) that it was performed by the imperial family and shoguns. Gold represents heaven, vermilion represents earth, and green represents man, and is believed to be good for warding off bad luck. [Edo Dokugaku][Health and longevity, protection from bad luck] The popularity of Hakata Dokugaku's acrobatics led to the flourishing of Dokugaku making in Edo (present-day Tokyo). Later, it is said that the Edo Dokuraku spread throughout the country. The five colors are said to confer longevity and ward off misfortune. [Oyama Koma][Family safety, prosperous business] Since the middle of the Edo period (1603-1867), pilgrimages to Daisen have been a popular form of worship and recreation for the common people of Edo. Pilgrims to Mt. Daisen used to take Koma as souvenirs. The red, indigo, and violet pattern comes from Buddhist ritual utensils, and is meant to promote safety in the home and prosperity in business. *[Practical capacity] is the approximate volume of liquid that will not spill when the container is tilted. The center of the bottom is bulged. *Gold is used. Please do not use it in a dishwasher or dryer, as the color may fade. When washing, we recommend that you wash it by hand gently. *Due to the molding process, there is a slight variation in the way the center of the bottom expands. |
