Description
| Letters come to life. [The traditional technique of "Hotarubori" (firefly digging) The "Sukashi" series uses the "Hotarubori" technique with transparent glaze to make letters and designs appear through the glaze. The engraved characters accentuate the design of the tokkuri and sake cup, which are unique to this series. The simple appearance makes them easy to use in any setting, and they fit in well with any space. [Hotarubori" is a technique in which an openwork carving is applied to a transparent glaze and fired. Holes are made in the surface of the vessel during the making process, and then the holes are filled with glaze. The letters that seem to emerge, a characteristic of the [openwork] series, are made using this traditional technique. Made of porcelain and available only in white. The sake cups come in two types: "SAKE" and "JAPAN. The sake cups have three types of watermarked characters: "SAKE" and "JAPAN" in addition to these two types. This design will be the talk of the town not only for sake lovers, but also at parties at home! Recommended for both personal use and as a gift for those who love sake. |
