Description
| Part time job delivering lunches specializing in the elderly, that's what I do. The customers were never the pitiful figure that would one day visit. I was the one who was energized; I was the one who was energized. (from the text) I was the one who was energized; The work that shook the hearts of many spectators at KYOTOGRAPHIE 2020 has finally been published in one volume (or [boku-ben] for short). The author, who is in his early 20s, suddenly became involved with elderly people living alone. At first, he could not face their lifestyle and kept his distance from them, but gradually he established a relationship with them and began to visit their homes and photograph them as if they were his old friends. This is a 10-year record of one young man's journey to become a photographer. Atsushi Fukushima Born in 1981 in Kanagawa Prefecture; Born in 1981 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Fukushima graduated from the Department of Photography at Osaka University of Arts in 2004, and from 2004 to 2014 worked part-time as a lunch box delivery man for the elderly in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, while continuing to photograph the elderly to whom he delivered the lunches. The following year, he won the KYOTOGARARARA Award for his work [Bento is Ready]. The following year, the same work was exhibited at KYOTOGARAPHIE. |
