Description
The latest and culmination of the best-selling [Schoolgirl*Complex] series, the monumental definitive edition! schoolgirl complex" is the work of photographer*YUKI AOYAMA, who has been working on it since 2006. "schoolgirl complex" is the work that photographer *Yuki Aoyama has been working on since 2006; Aoyama, who says that when he was an adolescent, he could not look his classmates in the eye or even talk to them face to face, and now he cannot even remember their faces, has created this work based on the theme of "complex" for Aoyama's "schoolgirls" through his own delusions that arose from his original experiences. The shooting started with the theme of "complex" to the "schoolgirls" for Aoyama. Sheer shirts, socks, legs stretching out from checked skirts, backs of knees, moles, scabs, etc... Even though they wear uniforms, traces of individuality of schoolgirls exist. Aoyama had strong fantasies and desires for these things as an adolescent, but at the same time, he also had a strong fear (complex) of women. The basic expression of the "schoolgirl complex" was born with the aim of expressing and symbolizing such complex feelings, fantasies, and desires in a thoroughly refined form. Aoyama's fantasies continue to grow with each photo shoot. Aoyama's imagination accelerated with each photo shoot. The students are trying desperately to remember their adolescence and wrap themselves in plastic and buffer material; The film is shot on location in Iceland to capture the "enigmatic relationship between girls" in a desolate place that evokes the opposite [end of the world], away from the closed space of the school. ...... In the end, an instinctive and desireful interest in "what exists inside the symbolism when they take off their school uniforms" led to the series "Schoolgirls who have taken off their symbolism along with their school uniforms". At last, even the term "schoolgirl" has disappeared. Over the course of 15 years of shooting, the subject matter shifted from "the distance between Aoyama and the girls" to "the relationship between the girls," and the focus also shifted to the girls' personalities rather than their symbolism. The focus shifted from "the distance between Aoyama and the girls" to "the relationship between the girls. As a result, the rule of "not showing faces," which had been a symbol of symbolism, was removed. With the change of the object of interest, Aoyama's own complex gradually dissolved, and by compiling the entire "schoolgirl complex" (A to Z) of the past 15 years in this book, the journey that has accelerated his fantasies has come to an end. I am very happy to be able to share this journey with you. Will the story come to an end, or will it open the door to a new delusion? Will the story come to an end? We will not be able to take our eyes off "schoolgirl" in the world of delusions from now on. We will keep an eye on "schoolgirl" in the world of fantasy; Yuuki Aoyama Mr.Portrait, photographer, was born in 1978 in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. He received the Canon New Cosmos of Photography Excellence Award in 2007. Currently resides in Tokyo. [He creates works that reflect his own view of adolescence and the image of girls and their fathers, while using "symbolic beings in Japanese society" such as businessmen, schoolgirls, and girls as motifs, such as "Solarman", "Schoolgirl Complex", and "Praise for Girls". She is also a father of a girl. |
