| A collection of photographs by a major newcomer that will change the world of the Corona Disaster through the power of photography. This is the first photo book by Mumuko, a major newcomer who won a prize at the photographer audition [SHINES]. The first half of the book is about the people and beautiful landscapes she encountered on her wandering journey to 50 countries around the world. During her travels, Mumuko absorbed diverse cultures and became a borderless artist who transcended national borders. However, in 2000, the world was transformed by a new type of coronavirus. People could no longer communicate with each other or cross borders. Yumemuko went on a wandering journey throughout Japan, from Hokkaido to Kyushu. The latter half of the book is filled with the heavy atmosphere of the Corona disaster. Her journey ends on the island of Yakushima, a place of ancient wilderness. Yumemuko is overwhelmed by the life force of the Yakusugi cedars. How will we survive in the age of the corona? The photographer finally finds the answer. This book has 416 pages, more than double the number of pages in a regular photo book. By presenting as many photographs before and after the Corona as a book of photographs, this book condenses both our regret for what we lost in the Corona and our positive will to live beyond the Corona into one volume. |
