He studied Japanese studies, Confucianism, and Buddhism, and while pursuing his studies, he also produced outstanding literati paintings, earning him the reputation as "the last of the literati. Tessai Tomioka
Born in Kyoto from 1836 to 1924. 富岡鉄斎(とみおか てっさい)
天保7〜大正13年(1836〜1924)、京都生まれ。国学・儒学・仏教を学び、学問のかたわら優れた文人画を制作、「最後の文人」とうたわれた。代表作は『重文 阿倍仲麻呂明州望月図』。
