[Itoigawa jade from Niigata Prefecture]

Size:Approximately 18.0 x 13.0 x 7.5 mm
Weight: approx. 16.5ct (average value)

Accessories: Loose case / Certificate / Stone card

Jade from Itoigawa is the only one of its kind in Japan and one of the best gem-quality jade in the world, and is highly valued for its high quality.

The jade origin of Itoigawa City is located in the Kotaki area upstream of the Himegawa River, which flows into the Sea of Japan, and in the Hashidate area upstream of the Aomi River.
Some areas are designated as natural monuments. Jade is found on the banks of these rivers and on the beaches near their mouths.

One of the characteristics of jade found in Itoigawa, especially in the sea, is that it is beautiful enough in its raw state, while rough jade from Myanmar, which is also famous for its high quality, has a brownish crust on its surface due to weathering.

In contrast to Myanmar, where commercial mining is conducted on a large scale, jade from Itoigawa is protected almost in its natural state, so the amount of jade on the market is small, and its rarity is also a major value.

This jade is specially preserved in our company.

[Hokkaido Hidaka Jade]

Size:Approximately 18.0 x 13.0 x 7.4 mm
Weight: approx. 17.5ct (average value)

Accessories: Loose case / Certificate / Stone card

In 1966, jade was found in the town of Hidaka and became the talk of the town.

It is not exactly jade, but a type of chrome translucent stone that contains about 1% chromium, which gives it a pale green color.
It has a light green color due to the presence of about 1% chromium.

It is neither hard nor soft jade, but has a woven structure that is characteristic of jade, and
Dr. Takeo Banba (then at the Geological Survey of Japan) published a paper in the Journal of the Gemological Society of Japan, in which he noted that it was neither hard nor soft jade, but had a woven structure characteristic of jade, and that its color and transparency were comparable to those of jade,
Dr. Takeo Banba (then at the Geological Survey of Japan) published a paper on jade in the Journal of the Gemological Society of Japan, and it was recognized worldwide as the third type of jade, following hard and soft jade.

However, it was soon depleted, and after peaking in the 1970s, it was almost forgotten.

There is a possibility that it will attract the attention of mineral enthusiasts as a "phantom jade" in the future.

Other constituents include spinel with black spots, gray chromium boxwood, and hornblende such as pectolite.
