Description
| This is a rug with a bird figurine design, which is typical of Katsuji Wakisaka, a former designer for Marimekko in Scandinavia. Undyed wool is carefully separated and spun by hand to produce yarns of several colors. Using these yarns, each rug is hand-woven one by one. By doing everything by hand, a unique and gentle atmosphere is created. It is wonderful to use it as an entrance mat, wall hanging, bedside table, or any other place where there is a little space. This hand-woven rug is made of high-quality materials with a simple Scandinavian-style [tori-] design. A non-slip surface is also provided with the rug. Introduction of the designer: Katsuji Wakisaka, textile designer Born in 1944 in Kyoto, Japan. After working for Marimekko in Finland and Jack*Lenore*Larsen in New York, he is currently based in Kyoto as a designer for SOU SOU. |

北欧のマリメッコのデザイナーもされていた、脇阪克二さんらしいのとりの置物のデザインのラグ。
無染色の羊毛を丁寧により分けて、手で紡いで数色の毛糸を作り出します。その糸を使い、1つ1つ手織りで仕上げています。すべてを手仕事で行うことによって、他にはない味わい深い優しい雰囲気が生まれました。玄関マットや壁掛け、ベッドサイドなど少し空いた場所に使っていただくと素敵です。上質な素材に、北欧風のシンプルな「とり」のデザインをプラスした手織りラグです。

フィンランドのマリメッコ社、ニューヨークのジャック・レノア・ラーセン社などを経て、現在は京都を拠点にSOU SOUのデザイナーとして活躍中。
