Description
[Shigaraki-ness" to many people. And to be a catalyst for that. The starting point is a reverence for Anagama. And a longing for Shigaraki* natural glaze... I want to touch the origin, the original spring, even if only a little. Harmony of artifice and nature. I hope this bowl will be the first step of Shigaraki. This vessel is produced with an emphasis on the powerful expression that conveys the breath of nature, and the texture of the piece as it is. The deep and soft coloring of the vitrified glaze, the clay surface with white pebbles, the marks of shells, the carved tokkin on the base, and the flow of the glaze created by intentionally tilting the pot during firing.... The clay components dissolved by high-temperature firing are mixed with ash and glazed to fill the cracked, rough clay surface and make the vessel more solid. Rather than being human-centered, human beings and nature grow close to each other. [No two pieces are alike.] We hope you will feel such a sense of vessel making. [Image 1 description] [Cracks] Cracks appear during firing due to the action of stones contained in the clay. The cracks are caused by the glazing of the components in the clay, The cracks are glazed by the components in the clay, making the vessel even more solid. It is as if nature itself is building up the vessel. These cracks are a view of the unique characteristics of earthenware. [Image 2 explanation]. [The stone is the starting point of the change in expression.] This dish is shaped round by a potter's wheel, but the stone accidentally caught on the finger, The stone may accidentally catch on the finger, resulting in a partially hollowed-out appearance. This is an unexpected expression that can only be expressed with ceramic clay containing large stones, and cannot be done intentionally. Since each piece is left to nature, it may or may not appear. Please enjoy each change. [Explanation of Image 3] [Clay*Ash] White clay is used for the potter's clay so that the potter's clay can be easily matched with food, We aimed to create a soft atmosphere unique to earthenware.
