Description
[Shigaraki-ness" to many people. And to be a catalyst for that. The starting point is a reverence for Anagama. And a longing for Shigaraki* natural glaze... I want to touch the origin, the original spring, even if only a little. Harmony of artifice and nature. I hope this bowl will be the first step of Shigaraki. This vessel is produced with an emphasis on the powerful expression that conveys the breath of nature, and the texture of the piece as it is. The deep and soft coloring of the vitrified glaze, the clay surface with white pebbles, the marks of shells, the carved tokkin on the base, and the flow of the glaze created by intentionally tilting the pot during firing.... The clay components dissolved by high-temperature firing are mixed with ash and glazed to fill the cracked, rough clay surface and make the vessel more solid. Rather than being human-centered, human beings and nature grow close to each other. [No two pieces are alike.] We hope you will feel such a sense of vessel making.
