Description
| This is a glass from the "A Piece of CAKE" series, an artwork by the design duo "Eskimo". Depending on the drink you pour, the back style has a playful motif. You can enjoy a different expression. For example, if you pour milk into the S3 cow [self-sufficient]... the motif of a milk bottle appears on the back style! [A Piece of CAKE" series. Artwork by eskimo] [Artwork by "Eskimo", a design duo that creates "convincing" products. Themes include environmental*social issues such as sustainable, SDGs, ethical, and culture. [With the concept of "art that grows with the child," the familiar motifs and simple compositions allow the viewer to enjoy the work in a sensory way. [The concept is "art that grows with the child. When children grow up and learn the meanings of the artworks, they will recognize the themes as their own, creating an opportunity for them to become interested in them and creating an environment in which they can discuss them as a family. [Why this naming: "A Piece of CAKE"] I wish for a future in which every problem can be solved someday [(it's) a piece of cake!] The name "A Piece of CAKE" was given with the hope that the future will continue to be solved with [(it's) a piece of cake! [How to paint?]] The artwork on which the design is based is digitally painted on board panels using the [masking technique]. How can we have a sense of reality other than what actually happens to us? S2 Whale [Happy encounter] design*Work description:[Happy encounter](2014) In today's world of efficiency, the ability to proceed as planned is highly valued, and following rules that are considered correct is considered a good thing. However, this is an imaginable future, and it is difficult to imagine beyond it. Great men and women of the past have made discoveries that no one could have imagined due to unexpected events that were not part of the plan. Now that it is possible to live more efficiently, it may be necessary to travel without a plan, seeking events and encounters that exceed our own assumptions. S3 Cows [Self-sufficient] Design*Work description:[Self-sufficient](2020) Self-sufficient" generally refers to a lifestyle in which people obtain the goods they need for their own lives through their own production, but as advances in information technology organize an environment in which people can complete various tasks on their own, it may become possible in the future to become "self-sufficient in a way that is friendly to the earth and animals. In that future, I would like to think that there will be no sad lives created and taken away for the sake of the distorted artificial food chain in the comfortable life that people have continued to seek today. ===== |

自分の居場所を守るため、必死に水を飲むが、決まった量しかない氷は、いずれその水に溶けて無くなる。そこにあって当然のものが、無くなる。気づいて行動する頃には、もう手遅れ。すでに、そんな状態の地球環境を危惧する専門家の意見は、リアリティがないという理由で、多くの人は積極的な活動をしていないだろう。実際に自分の身に起きること以外に、どうやってリアリティを感じることができるのだろうか。

効率を重視する現代、計画通りに進める能力が高く評価され、正しいとされるルールに従うことが良しとされる。ただし、それは想像できる未来であり、それを超える想像をすることは難しい。過去の偉人も、計画にない想定外の出来事によって、誰も想像がつかない発見をしてきた。効率よく生きることも可能になった今、自分の想定範囲を超えた出来事や出会いを求め、あえて無計画に旅をすることも必要なのではないだろうか。

一般的に「自給自足」は、自らの生活に必要な物資を自らの生産によって手に入れる生活のことである。IT技術の進歩によって様々な物事が個人完結できる環境が整理され、将来的に「地球や動物にも優しい自給自足」も可能になるのではないか。その未来には、現代の人間が求め続けた快適な暮らしの中にある、歪んだ人工的な食物連鎖の為につくられ、奪われる悲しい命は無いと思いたい。
