| This long-length haori is from the [marrow] series, which was created by reclaiming leftover cloth from mosquito net products and worn-out everyday clothes. The originally developed fabric, made of a fluffy double weave, combines softness and comfort with the warmth of cotton. Recommended for those who want to wear something warm during the cold season but are not comfortable with wool*. It has been renewed and re-launched in a smaller size in the fall of 2025. ●「marrow」シリーズとは●
marrowは「蚊帳製品」の生産時に出来る裁断後の余り布や、着古された「かやの日常着」を原料の一部に使用しています。
のちにmarrowも原料になることで、循環型経済を確立していきます。
廃棄物や無駄、汚染を発生させないように、原料のリサイクルを想定した上で製品デザインやサービスをプラン段階から設計することが本質にあると考えています
●アップサイクル商品ができるまで●
1.回収
「蚊帳製品」の生産時の余り布/着古した「かやの日常着」を回収し、
蚊帳生地全20色をそれぞれ色ごとに分けます。
2.反毛
廃棄予定だった余り布の蚊帳生地を「綿」状にします。
※反毛とは廃棄糸、廃棄生地、古着などを綿状に戻して繊維として再利用することです。近年のサスティナブル志向によって改めて注目されている繊維再利用手段の1つです。
3. 反毛糸
綿を紡績し糸にしていきます。
4.織り
出来上がった反毛糸を2重織に織っていき、生地にします。
5.製品化/販売
できた生地を縫製し、製品化。 ひとつの生地に4〜7色の蚊帳生地が混在していることで、よく見るとネップの表情や生地に小さな彩りが見えます。

●蚊帳生地の特徴●
もともと寝る際の蚊よけとして吊られれていた蚊帳。
織目が粗く、風通しの良い生地です。空気を通すために糸と糸の間を広くとって織り上げる製法で、非常に軽く速乾性・通気性に富んでいます。
